Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of AIGrammar (the Chrome extension and associated backend service). By creating an account or installing the extension, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they are written in plain English.

References to "we", "us", or "our" mean the AIGrammar team. "You" means the person or entity using the service.

1. What AIGrammar does

AIGrammar is a Chrome extension that uses AI to suggest grammar corrections and text completions as you type in any editable field in your browser. Suggestions are shown inline; press Tab to accept one. The service requires an active account and, after the free trial, a paid subscription.

2. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us at support@aigrammar.me immediately.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

3. Free trial and subscription

Free trial

New accounts receive a 7-day free trial. No payment card is required to start the trial. During the trial you have full access to the service.

Paid subscription

After the trial period ends, continued use of the service requires a paid subscription. The current price is $5 per month. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly on the same date each month until cancelled.

Payment is processed by Stripe. You will be redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page to enter your payment details. We never see or store your card information.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through the customer portal, accessible from the extension popup. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not charge a cancellation fee.

Refund policy

If you convert from the free trial to a paid subscription and are not satisfied, you may request a pro-rated refund within 7 days of the conversion date by emailing support@aigrammar.me. We will review refund requests and, if approved, process them within 5 business days.

Outside this 7-day window, we do not offer refunds for partial billing months. This does not affect any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

Price changes

We may change the subscription price. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before the new price takes effect for your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use AIGrammar only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You agree not to:

• Use the service to generate spam, phishing content, abusive messages, or any content that harasses, threatens, or harms others.
• Use automated scripts or bots to send requests to the service at a volume beyond normal human typing.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract models or data from the backend.
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
• Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or access the service without a valid account.
• Share your account credentials with others or resell access to the service.

We reserve the right to determine, in our reasonable judgment, whether use violates this policy.

5. Intellectual property

The AIGrammar extension, backend service, and all related software and branding are owned by us. These terms do not grant you any ownership rights. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the extension for personal or internal business purposes while your subscription is active.

Text that you type and the AI-generated suggestions belong to you. We do not claim any ownership over the content you process through the service.

6. Termination

Termination by you

You can close your account at any time by emailing support@aigrammar.me. If you have an active subscription, cancelling your account cancels the subscription as well. See the refund policy above for what you may be owed.

Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate the acceptable use policy or any other part of these terms.
• We are required to do so by law or a court order.
• We discontinue the service (in which case we will provide at least 30 days' notice where reasonably possible).

If we terminate your account for a ToS violation, we are not obligated to provide a refund. If we terminate for any other reason (e.g., service shutdown), we will refund any unused portion of a prepaid month on a pro-rated basis.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that:

• AI suggestions will be accurate, grammatically correct, or suitable for your purpose.
• The service will be available without interruption or error.

You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated suggestion before using it. Do not rely on the service for any use where an error could have serious consequences.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability for consequential damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and notify you by email with at least 14 days' notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date means you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept the changes, you should cancel your subscription and stop using the service before they take effect.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the AIGrammar team is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
